The adult classes run for 3 hours, usually starting with a short demonstration or explanation of a technique.
The classes are informal and people can also design and work on their own projects. Students receive constructive feedback throughout the classes while beginners are given more guidance.
The aim is to enjoy each lesson, picking up skills as needed. A variety of media are used including charcoal, pastel, acrylic and oil.
I encourage my students to challenge themselves and confidently explore the possibilities in their art making.
Working in a variety of media I aim to help the students develop new skills and a critical approach to their own artwork.
The lessons begin with a short demonstration and explanation of what we will be doing, with ongoing help during the class. The children’s classes run for 2 hours with a light snack provided.
Most projects are started and completed in 1 lesson but some may take longer and are worked on over a few lessons.
I hope to infuse the children with an appreciation for their own art, the art of established artists and to experience the joy of creating. I know I’ve succeeded when they have not only enjoyed the experience but are proud of the effort they have made and are satisfied with the end result.
